Interview with Amy

Q. How long have you been doing what you do and how did you get to be an expert in Business & Medical English?

I have been learning and teaching languages for over 30 years and have proficiency in 5 languages, besides having a Master’s in International Marketing, and experience working in multinational organizations such as the World Bank, and experience as a university professor of English.

I’ve had the opportunity to help business people to improve their English ability to conduct meetings, give presentations and network across cultures around the world.

I have helped numerous doctors to match in the US Residency Interviewing process, in addition to giving them practice for Step 2 of the USMLEs.

Q. Who are your clients exactly?

My students are mid to upper level business professionals or doctors and nurses who need to take their career to the next level.

Q. How are you different from other Business and Medical English coaches?

What sets me apart from other coaches is that I apply my experience developing proficiency in 5 European languages because of my 30 + years experience learning & teaching languages clients develop the confidence needed to conduct business in English.

Q. For what type of professional is this not going to work?

This will not work if you don’t have the time to come to class regularly (usually 2 or 3 times a week) and review the feedback, as well as do minimal homework.

No pain – no gain!

In order to improve, I need to stretch your linguistic muscles and gradually take you out of your comfort zone.

Q. Does this really work?

Most students have seen significant results after 20 or 30 lessons.

It’s kind of like working with a personal trainer. If you buy the membership but don’t do the exercises and apply the techniques shown to you, you will not get as fit as those who go to the gym regularly and sweat it out.

Q. How quickly can I expect results?

If you come to class 2 or 3 times a week, you can expect to see changes in 10 weeks or so. Some students study for a longer period to polish and perfect their English.
